Directors

President

Primary Responsibilities:

The President of the IIMA leads the Board of Directors, providing support, assistance and mentorship to other chairs as needed. The President chairs all board meetings and general meetings of the association membership.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of three years senior management experience. Previous experience with a non-profit association or board, as well as strong Internet marketing experience and skills are required. This individual must be self-motivated, with excellent communication, project management and people skills.

Vice President

Primary Responsibilities:

The Vice President (President Elect) supports the president in all aspects of the leadership of the association, and provides operational support, assistance and guidance to other Chairs as required. The Vice President is primarily responsible for the IIMA strategic plan and keeping all Directors on task, and in the absence of the President, chairs meetings of the Board and general membership. Should the President be unable to fulfill their term for any reason, the Vice President assumes leadership for the association until the next AGM.

Required Qualifications:

This individual must be self-motivated with excellent communication, project management and people skills. The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of two years management experience. Internet marketing and business operations experience are an asset. They also have a history of integrity and accountability with a strong professional work ethic.

Treasurer

Primary Responsibilities:

The Treasurer is responsible for monitoring the financial health of the association with regular reports to the board.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate possesses bookkeeping experience, and has a history of integrity and accountability with a strong professional work ethic.

Sponsorship/Advertising Director

Primary Responsibilities:

The Sponsorship Director is responsible for the acquisition and retention of IIMA sponsors as well as increasing revenue through IIMA advertising opportunities. The Sponsorship Director is the driving force behind creating and maintaining profitable partnerships with corporate and individual sponsors and ensures that all sponsor commitments are met.

This individual must be self-motivated, with excellent communication, project management, sales and people skills.

Marketing Director

Primary Responsibilities:

The marketing chair is responsible for increasing awareness of the association, protecting the brand and increasing attendance at events. This responsibility includes promotion of the IIMA, its positioning, benefits and offerings to specific audiences including media, members, prospective members, CIMBS graduates, other trade associations and business at large. With the assistance of the marketing committee and in co-operation with other chairs, this role drives the strategic planning and tactical implementation of all marketing initiatives for the association. Marketing initiatives include but are not limited to: website, email communications, advertising, press releases, partner programs and printed collateral.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator with at least three years of prior marketing experience in a management role and strong project management skills. A good network of contacts is also an asset.

Social Networking Director

Primary Responsibilities:

The Social Networking Director is responsible for providing leading edge advice on how social media can increase awareness and revenue for the IIMA. Advice is provided in the form of articles or blogs posted to the website on a minimum basis of 2/month.

Event Marketing Director

Primary Responsibilities:

The Event Marketing Director handles outbound email communications for events, event copy, management of all event oriented vendors.

Succession Planning Director

Primary Responsibilities:

The Succession Planning Director is responsible for ensuring that all Director roles and committee roles are filled with knowledgeable industry professionals. Working with each director, The Succession Planning Director will work to find valuable board members for the association by drawing from industry connections, association members and relevant post secondary programs.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role has strong industry connections, is great at relationship building and has previous non-profit association or board experience.

Education Director

Primary Responsibilities:

The Education Director is responsible for securing high caliber, relevant, leading edge content and speakers for all communications channels. Channels include events, conferences, website and other relevant opportunities. Once the speakers are secured, the education director is also responsible for ensuring that relevant marketing materials/copy is provided to the Event Marketing Director for posting, and the Events Coordinator for event planning.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has a minimum 3 years online marketing experience, strong connections or access to leaders within the North American Internet marketing industry. Excellent communication, writing and negotiation skills are required to be successful in this role.

Affiliate Marketing Chair

Primary Responsibilities:

The Affiliate Marketing Chair is responsible for cross marketing opportunities with other associations. While establishing partnerships, the AMC will filter any great content and speaker recommendations over to the Education Chair, expand on additional marketing avenues and send to Event Coordinator for messaging distribution (one new partner/month). Reports to Online Marketing Director.

Online Marketing Chair

Primary Responsibilities:

The Online Marketing Chair is responsible for increasing awareness of the association website via online marketing channels that primarily include Search Engine Optimization, online advertising and social networking. In particular, the OMC will be required to develop, monitor and adjust a solid keyword strategy and maintain regular communications within social networks in conjunction with the Social Media Chair. Reports to Marketing Director.

Analytics Chair

Primary Responsibilities:

The Analytics Chair is responsible for running, interpreting and distributing all google analytic reports, email marketing reports, and membership reports to Directors on a monthly basis. These reports will be critical to monitoring the success of IIMAs marketing and communications programs that will drive the association forward. Reports to Marketing Director.

Content Marketing Chair

Primary Responsibilities:

Collecting/soliciting expert internet marketing content for posting on the website. Will formulate or drive content marketing strategy that includes uploading.

In addition, the content marketing chair is primarily responsible for ensuring that IIMA is utilizing leading edge technologies to promote our brand. Most importantly, the technology chair is responsible for creating and executing our Webinar strategy.

Reports to Marketing Director.

Member Services Chair

Primary Responsibilities:

The Member Services Chair is responsible for the acquisition and retention of the association’s membership base. The MSD is specifically responsible for maintaining a booth presence and relevant industry trade shows, conducting an annual membership drive, developing and maintaining the membership sales packaging and establishing and maintaining a relationship with a minimum of one relevant post secondary program/student body for the purpose of soliciting new volunteer/committee “recruits”, future members and future board members. In addition, the Member Services Director in conjunction with other board Directors, is responsible for defining member levels, pricing and value added member benefits.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role has at least two years background in Internet marketing, business operations and human resources, as well as previous non-profit association or board experience.

Web Production Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities:

The web production coordinator is primarily responsible for making ongoing updates to the website to ensure content is relevant and up to date. Updates include but are not limited to event announcements, job postings, sponsorship postings and content changes. The web Production Coordinator is a paid role and co-reports to the Marketing Director and Event Marketing Director.

Events Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities:

The Events Coordinator reports directly to the Education Director. The Events Coordinator is responsible for booking the venue, and ensuring all event a/v, catering, sponsorship and support materials are in place. Distribution of all event marketing materials through all channels.

The association hosts an average of 8 seminars and/or workshops per year with the assistance of the Events Committee, providing excellent speakers and depth of content relevant to our membership.

Sponsorship Sales Consultant

Primary Responsibilities:

The Sponsorship Sales Consultant is responsible for the acquisition and retention of IIMA sponsors as well as increasing revenue through IIMA advertising opportunities. The Sponsorship Director is the driving force behind creating and maintaining profitable partnerships with corporate and individual sponsors and ensures that all sponsor commitments are met.

Required Qualifications:

This individual must be self-motivated, with excellent communication, project management, sales and people skills.

Compensation:
40% commission on sales

Secretary

Primary Responsibilities:

The Secretary is responsible for administration of all day-to-day operations of the Board, including coordination of board meetings, maintaining the minute book, and holding meetings to order. They are the keeper of all corporate filings, archives, portfolio, corporate memory, documentation and processes.

The ideal candidate possesses administrative and has a history of integrity and accountability with a strong professional work ethic.

Compensation:
$200/month – $20/hour at 10 hours/month
