The first question posed by the moderator, Rajan Sodhi, VP Marketing at Peer 1: “What is happening with Bing and Yahoo?”

Martin, from Bing, told us CPC results will be provided by Bing, but as implementation is just being started not much has happended yet. He also suggests we go to SearchAlliance.com to get the most up-to-date information.

IMC Vancouver 2010: The Line-up!

With just over a month away, IMC Vancouver 2010 is just finalizing the last speakers/presenters. The event seems to be forming as an IMC highlight event with its “crazy strong” line-up including a keynote address from illustrious Guy Kawasaki. IMC reports the keynote and focus of the conference will be “Simple Marketing”.

No doubt borrowing from his Apple years, Kawasaki will be discussing the importance of simplificiation while the conference will aim to teach participants practical solutions to increase traffic and use simplistic tools to create effective results. Continue…

Training Day Schedule – September 21st

Training Day will consist of a minimum of 4 tracks:

  1. Social Media: covering the latest marketing strategies & tactics to use Twitter, Facebook,LinkedIn, YouTube & other Social Marketing media
  2. Mobile Marketing: how Mobile Marketing now integrates into Web Marketing, Print Marketing, Video Marketing and more. Applications will get a lot of attention.
  3. Search Marketing: is Google out of tune? Is Bing turning around into the preferred choice? The Search Marketing Training will cover all the latest trends from the world of search. For example, how to deal with Google’s preference of showing maps as results.
  4. Analytics & Optimization: from tracking to testing into creating the most effective landing pages. Tracking is standard, but are you using the data to test different alternatives? Are you effectively creating the most successful pages for your website marketing efforts?

IMC will feature world-class trainers in all of the above topics. Trainers will be announced soon.

Meet the Speakers: Chris Breikss

IMC Vancouver 2010 Meet the Speakers:


Chris Breikss, Owner, 6S Marketing

Chris Breikss is a co-founder and President of 6S Marketing, a Vancouver based Internet marketing company. Chris started the company 10 years ago with co-founder John Blown and they have grown it to 25 full-time employees in their Yaletown office today.

Prior to starting 6S in 2000, Chris worked in at wireless company called Infowave and in the late 90s in the dot-com era with Stratford Internet Technologies. These days Chris is working on developing innovative CRM related strategies integrating tools such as Salesforce.com and MailChimp together in lead nurturing and drip campaigns.

IMC Vancouver 2010 Meet the Speakers:

Maryam Mahdaviani, Co-Founder, Optemo Technologies

Maryam Mahdaviani is co-founder of Optemo Technologies,  a fast paced e-commerce solution provider company based in downtown Vancouver. Maryam started the company more than two years ago with Jan Ulrich. Optemo has created and validated a suite of novel and intelligent e-commerce solutions which have contributed to increased customer satisfaction, loyalty, and higher conversion rates.

Prior to Optemo Maryam was a researcher at UBC and Intel labs working on state-of-the-art methods of eliciting and learning user behaviours and preferences. Maryam holds a masters degree in Computer Science from UBC. She has several publications in the area of artificial intelligence and frequently speaks at panels and conferences.

Mona Elesseily is the Director of Marketing Strategy at Page Zero Media, where she focuses on paid search strategy and conversion improvement. In her career, Mona has significantly improved campaign performance for large brands such as Capitol One, CareerBuilder.com, Cathay Pacific, as well as medium to large retailers and high-tech B2B-enterprise niches.

Mona is considered by many the authority of the Yahoo! Search Marketing platform. She wrote the world’s only guide to Yahoo! Search Marketing (aka Overture) called “Master Panama: A special report on Yahoo!’s new search marketing platform” (August 2007). She’s a columnist at SearchEngineLand.com and contributes to a variety of other publications on marketing related issues.
